Hey Movie Makers! Why can’t chicks do movie trailer voiceovers?

So I tried to start a Twitter conversation about this a few weeks ago, and it's still bugging me. I ask: Dear Movie industry, Why aren’t you using female voiceover artists to do movie trailers?Because “this is the way we’ve always done it”?

You know, it’s time for a shake up. Time for something new and refreshing. Don’t get me wrong. I love the voice of Al Chalk, Mark Elliot and Nick Tate (among others). But after a while, don’t ya think the movie industry needs something new and different? Would it be too strange for the movie viewing audiences?

Here’s a really nice Female voiceover (by Donna Reed) trailer I found on YouTube. It’s GORGEOUS!!!

This is one of VERY few trailers voiced by a woman. So I send out the challenge to the movie trailer companies… Just as a first step, try hiring a woman to do a trailer for a Chick-flick. Hire more women. See how it flies. Would it be all that bad?

Meantime, watch this video about movie preview voices by Pablo Francisco… it cracked me up!
