To work with an agent or not

So I'm struggling with whether or not it's time to get me an agent.  Any thoughts out there?  Is it worth it?  I'm sure the agents would say "yes" - what does the voiceover nation say?

Why wouldn't you?

Sure, you can get plenty of work by yourself, but why shut off a potential pipeline of auditions that you may not ever see otherwise?

You know as well as I do that you can't rely on agents exclusively, but why not have them as part of your package? I don't really see the downside.

Hi Kathryn,

Sorry to disagree with Mike but yes, this is still an industry where it is helpful to have a qualified agent out there on your side.

Not only do they set up auditions and jobs, but if its the right agent, you'll have a professional sounding board for issues that come up in your business.

I hope this helps.

Best always,
